September Ridge

Some seasons are easier to leave than others.

September Ridge began with a childhood memory of Ketchikan, Alaska—the photograph of three friends at the beginning of an adventure. I didn’t know then that the day would become a memory I would carry with me for years.

An overcast afternoon on September Ridge above a mountaintop lake in Southeast Alaska, with children in the foreground

September Ridge carried that feeling with it: the deep greens and blues of the place where I grew up, the changing light, and the quiet beauty of being completely present in a moment without needing it to be perfect.

Over the past season, those colors have found their way into projects, photographs, and stories that belong to other people now.

That may be my favorite part of making a collection.

A collection begins with a place and a memory.
I bring that landscape to life in fiber.
And then the story moves into someone else’s hands.

September Ridge has reached the end of its season, and now it is time to turn the page.

Some remaining pieces will find their way into The Last Chapter, while the story itself becomes part of the Twig & Treadle Collection Archive—a little record of where we’ve been.

Thank you for spending this season with September Ridge.

Threshold

There is a moment when one season is still lingering, while the next has already begun to emerge.

A threshold.

Threshold began with a single leaf—its colors holding onto one season even as another begins to emerge.

It is a collection about crossing over.

About holding on.
About waiting.
About the quiet before.
About finding stillness—and eventually, solace—on the other side.

Every Twig & Treadle Collection begins with a moment in nature.

The landscape inspires the palette.
The palette becomes fiber.
The fiber becomes someone’s story.

Threshold is the next chapter.

Coming soon to Twig & Treadle.
